SLO MO YOGA is a blend of yin, restorative and assisted yoga. It is ideal for people
experiencing persistent stiffness and aches to those desiring just to become more flexible.

No yoga experience necessary. This yoga is about learning and opening to change,

developing our body-based authority and gently strengthening the mind in its true task
of supporting body and spirit.

The emphasis of SLO MO YOGA is on the receptive rather than the willful aspects of
yoga. We allow ourselves to become intrigued with the motion of breath and its effects
rather than the mechanical motion of the body. Letting go into breath creates space
and lengthening in the soft tissues. Bringing attention to a particular area and adding
sound such as soft moans, sighs or hums encourages the exhale to lengthen and
creates vibration, as though applying an internal tuning fork.

We will use pillows, blankets and other props for support in many of the poses, most
of which will be done on the floor. Some gentle standing poses will also include Qi gong.
Please bring an exercise/yoga mat and blanket to class.
